Publish Articles to Your Website That Reflect Your Specialty

Before you publish articles to your website, do you have a goal in mind?
Well, you say – content is king. I need to get some words on there to attract those spyders and become visible on the search engines.
That’s all well and good. But the main reason to publish articles to your site is to showcase your expertise.
Content may be king, and satisfying the search engines is important, but if your content doesn’t benefit your customer, solve his problem, or reflect what he’s searching for, you’ll lose him.
What’s the Desired Result When You Publish Articles?
Each time you publish, articles should reflect some aspect of your business. Basically, you’re teaching your visitors. You may provide general information about your subject of expertise. Or give specific answers to a prospect’s problem. Or maybe show how one of your products can benefit the visitor.
You want to show your visitors that YOU are the expert. Publish articles that
- Teach
- Inform
- Illustrate
- Relieve his pain
- Answer his questions
- Prove your expertise
- Even entertain
- Establish trust
Don’t
- Talk down to your visitors
- Use excessive jargon
- Mislead
- Lose your focus
And for the sake of your image, make sure you don’t publish articles that
- Are rife with misspelled words
- Have grammatical errors
There’s nothing that will ruin your credibility faster. Print your article, and read it. Spell checkers only catch misspelled words. They won’t reveal heteronyms, words accidentally left out, or incorrect punctuation.
Whether your aim is to inform, illustrate, answer questions honestly, relive a prospect’s pain, or something else, when you publish articles with a goal in mind, you’ll boost your image and credibility – and cement that illusive trust.
