Thanks, everyone, for the record month of downloads “Equinox – Six Declinations” had in August (a record for me, anyway – a drop in the bucket for some name authors, I’m sure). 8000 folks took a chance and downloaded the book to their Kindle.

That blew my mind, and I appreciate everyone who read the book, and those who took the time to review it on Amazon (out of 8 reviews, “Equinox – Six Declinations received five 5-star reviews!).

I’d set the book’s price to free to make it available to a wide audience of potential readers (hoping to build a fan-base), and it definitely paid off. September wasn’t quiet as good as August, but October is October downloads are picking up (hopefully from word-of-mouth, as I haven’t had time to do much marketing).

Looking forward…

November – watch for “Annaleah’s Dress”, a contemporary fantasy short story.

Sometime around the first of 2012 – “Seed”, my historical/fantasy/thriller, will hit the Kindle bookstore (just in time for you folks who get new Kindle’s from Santa for Christmas!). Check out the preview.

Again, thanks for reading my scribblings. Have a great Halloween!

This Sunday I’ll start participating in an experiment David Wisehart of the Kindle Author blog thought up, called “Sample Sunday”. The premise – authors place samples of their work, be they short stories, excerpts of novels, works-in-progress, poetry – whatever strikes their fancy – on their websites or blogs. Then, come Sunday, they Tweet these samples to the world at large, for your enjoyment.

All in all a great way for new authors to gain exposure, and for rabid readers to appease their literary hunger for new and exciting stories. David started this little experiment in December 2010 (another creative approach to giving new authors a promotional shot in the arm, complimenting his already popular interviews), so I’m a little late to the party. But, as the saying goes, better late than never.

For any budding writers who read this and who might want to contribute their own work to Sample Sunday, the Twitter hashtag is #SampleSunday, or #ss for short.

By the way, if you plan to or you have published your work electronically and it’s suitable for Kindle , check out David’s Kindle Author blog. He might be willing to interview you. Heck, he even did one with me.
